Weight: 300g

These wonderful fresh Calabrian figs are the native 'Dottato' DOP variety which trace their roots in Calabria way back to the Romans. The Dottato fig has green skin and a golden interior. The flesh is creamy, sweet and soft and has few, very fine seeds.

This simple speciality has been prepared with figs which have been hand-picked this year when fully ripe and selected piece by piece. They are packed in glass jars and filled with natural sugar syrup and absolutely no chemical additives or preservatives. Healthy, nutritious, light and tasty, these figs are packed with potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, copper and manganese, vitamins B1, B2 and A and are excellent in a vegetarian or vegan diet and for anyone who has an iron deficiency.

Our figs in syrup are mature and ready to enjoy. They can be eaten in the same way as a regular piece of fruit, for breakfast, as a snack or as a dessert. Excellent too in recipes such as a fruit tart.

Italian fresh figs, water, sugar, lemon juice.

Our producer - Artibel

Based in Belmonte on the Tyrhennian coast of Calabria, Artibel is an ancient family-run company whose history goes back to the beginning of the twentieth century when they were specialists in building dry stone walls. By the middle of the 1900's they had started to cultivate the fertile Calabrian land and specialised in fig delicacies and chilli products.

There is a strong and emotional bond between the family and its land which translates into great passion for their work and for traditions. They successfully create top quality products with healthy and genuine raw materials using the same simple and natural processes as generations gone by.
