This is a great value food wine, dark cherry-red in colour with scents of forest fruit, cherry and liquorice. Silky and smooth on the palate with a hint of spice and further cherry flavours. The tannins are soft and the finish clean and juicy.
The Grifoni family who produce this wine are passionate about preserving old local varieties, and use 15% Pugnitello in the blend, along with the more common Sangiovese.
Try with pasta dishes such as rigatoni with basil and cherry tomatoes or pork chops, beef, veal or poultry.

Our Producer – Azienda Agricola San Ferdinando
San Ferdinando's estate is spread over 60 hectares in the heart of Tuscany in the area of Val di Chiana noted for its long tradition of oil and wine production. The Grifoni family purchased the estate in 1998 and farm organically. Most of the vineyard activities are rigorously carried out by hand, all supervised by Simone Grifoni. Weedkillers and insecticides are completely banned and the vineyard is treated like a garden with great respect for the environment and nature.
