These super-crunchy bread sticks are made from extra virgin olive oil and lashings of garlic and chilli pepper!
Known in the regional dialect as 'Rubatà' they are produced in Piemonte from a recipe which is centuries old. They have been hand rolled and twisted to give them their characteristic irregular shape. 'Rubatà' means "fallen" or "rolled", probably referring to how the baker drops the strips of dough onto the table before rolling them out.
They make a healthy and satisfying snack on their own or can be served as an alternative to bread alongside a salad or with antipasti. They are great with dips or wrapped in charcuterie.
Ingredients
Soft wheat flour 0, palm oil, extra virgin olive oil, brewer's yeast, garlic, spicy chilli pepper, salt, malted wheat flour, durum wheat semolina. May contain traces of nuts and sesame seeds.
