Organic Vegan Civias Acanteo Grillo
An organic, vegan white wine, innovative in its flavour and freshness which embraces to the full versatility of an important species of vine in the Sicilian tradition. Straw coloured yellow with green hues. The nose is an intense bouquet of hay, mimosa and chamomile with notes of exotic fruit. The wine has a striking personality, with explosive flavours. It is well balanced with freshness that makes the mouth salivate for more.
Sicily: In the municipalities of Canicattì and the hinterland of Agrigento. Limestone sandy-silt soils of medium consistency; at an altitude between 250 – 400 m. a. s. l.
Traditionally white at controlled temperature. Ageing for 3 months in steel tanks and 2 months in the bottle.
Aperitif, risotto, cous cous and all kinds of fish dishes.

In the sunniest and driest part of Sicily, stretched out to the coastal city of Agrigento, cultivating vines has long been an important part of the economy, but not quite as important as the Taccia-Caci sulphur mines, reknowned and recounted in local literature. CIVIAS is exploiting the now-defunct underground shafts of the old sulfur mines, with their humid conditions and constant temperatures, for cellaring wine barrels and bottles.
Civias has had the vision necessary for proposing a new concept of quality wines. It has smoothly integrated the traditions of wine-producing with technological and organisational innovation necessary for producing exciting, quality products.
