Our Producer

Massucco

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the Massucco family has cultivated the vineyards that surround its winery. The grapes from these vineyards give life to some of the most important Piemontese wines. The grapes are grown on their 50 acres and without the use of GMO products with sustainable “green” agriculture. The Roero soil, ideal for the cultivation of vineyards, is treated with natural products, to maintain the balance that for generations has produced a wine of unique and distinctive character.

The family takes care of all aspects of the vineyards. From the preparation of the soil to the sowing of the cuttings.  After the fructification of September-October crop, the fall of leaves is expected and mid-winter the pruning of the vines is carried out strictly by hand. Then, in June, another pruning is done.

Even the harvest is done by hand, selecting the best bunches in the field. The white grapes are harvested with a good acidity, while the red grapes are picked ripe, with good values of sugar and colour. The grapes are then de-stemmed and pressed, and the must is fermented. Then the wine is aged in the barrels.

In their continuous pursuit of excellence, the Massucco family has experimented with new processing methods and technological solutions, while integrating traditional wine making expertise. The results are wines that are distinguished by harmonious aromas and flavours, which reflect the best Piemontese wine tradition. Massucco wines have be selected among the Italian wines with best quality to price ratio.

The Massucco company is an example of how a contemporary product can be made that boasts centuries of history, enhancing it and bringing it to the attention of an ever expanding public.

Thanks to all of the good practices employed at the Massucco winery,  its wines have been awarded with several International prizes. Their motto "From vine to wine" says it all!
