Description

Steccaia is a fresh and vibrant white wine produced by award winning estate La Regola. Cultivated in "terra rossa" (red earth) rich in minerals and Pliocene sands, Steccaia is fermented entirely in stainless steel to preserve its crystalline purity. The result is a wine of remarkable freshness, characterized by a bright straw-yellow hue and an expansive bouquet of grapefruit, mandarin zest, and white Mediterranean flowers. On the palate, it is crisp and savoury, offering a distinct saline minerality that reflects its seaside origin.

Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel & ageing for 5 months in steel and 2 months in bottle.

Food pairings

A perfect match for spaghetti alle vongole (clams), fried seafood, light starters such as a courgette risotto or pasta with peas. Excellent too as an aperitivo wine alongside bruschetta with fresh tomato, fresh goats cheese or a vegetable tempura.

Podere La Regola

La Regola is a multi award-winning organic winery located in Riparbella, on the Tuscan Coast, in the Cecina River valley, just a few miles from the sea. This area has long been ideal for growing grapes, with vineyards, olive trees, and cypress trees creating a classic Tuscan landscape.

Archaeological finds, including remains of an Etruscan settlement from the 7th century BC and many wine amphorae, show that winemaking here has a very long history.

The soil is made of sandy layers rich in fossils, mixed with clay and iron. Along with the vineyards’ south-southeast exposure, this helps the grapes ripen evenly. As a result, the wines are elegant, well-structured, and have a long-lasting flavour.

La Regola was voted 'Winery of the Year', Central Italy for 2026 by WineMag (Italy). This major award recognises the winery for quality, consistency and identity.
