Langhe Nebbiolo 'Coste' DOC
Nebbiolo is the grape behind Barolo and Barbaresco. It is also the main grape in this outstanding quality wine which is a great, budget-friendly alternative to those two famous reds. This gives it a spicy and slightly floral nose, with raspberries and a distinct freshness. On the palate there is loads of crunchy fruit, as well as firm tannins and a crisp acidity well integrated into the structure of this wine.
Hand selected fruit, natural fermentation with no added sulfur, and 10 months in stainless steel before bottling and a fully organic vineyard results in a wine that is a stunning example of some of the best demarcated Nebbiolo in Barolo.
This vegan wine pairs well with protein based foods both vegetarian/vegan and meat.
The name “Principiano” has held the same spot on the map of Serralunga di Alba since 1700 A.D. The modern estate was founded back in the 1950‘s by Americo Principiano, Ferdinando’s father. It wasn’t until 1993 that all of the holdings were finally converted to vineyards, until then it was a mixed agriculture farm. Ferdinando advised his father Americo that focusing on wine production was the right move. It was in the midst of the Barolo Renaissance.
