Straw yellow with greenish glints in colour, and a typically floral nose suggesting yellow apples, apricot and iris. The palate shows apple flavours which continue, mingling with more luscious apricot flavours and almonds. The wine finishes dry and crisp.

This is a perfect, light everyday wine, recommended particularly with appetizers, pasta dishes and seafood.

    Our Producer

    Masciarelli Tenute Agricole

The Masciarelli Estate was established in 1981 by Gianni Masciarelli, a symbol of Italian wine and one of the protagonists of the success of modern wine production in Abruzzo. The heart of the winery is in San Martino sulla Marrucina, in the province of Chieti, and includes vineyards and olive groves, in 14 towns across all 4 provinces of Abruzzo (Chieti, Teramo, Pescara e L’Aquila).

These are vinyards with very specific characteristic, rich in minerals and set at different altitudes (from 200 to 500m), producing different expressions of the wine varieties. Since the very beginning, Masciarelli focussed on the potentials of the native wine varieties: Montepulciano and Trebbiano. Great importance is given to the land and to its wine culture and tradition, and modern innovations coexist with craftmanship and old traditions.

The Estate also has a small production of extra virgin olive oil and now has 18 labels and five product lines.

This wine maker has been recognised by 'Slow Wine' which supports and promotes small-scale Italian winemakers who are using traditional techniques, working with respect for the environment and terroir, and safeguarding the incredible biodiversity of grape varieties that are part of Italy’s heritage.
